NEWS / Version 2 partner the best in Broadcast and Events over a busy Autumn
TV, broadcast, and event lighting rental specialists Version 2 Lights report on a busy autumn period, supporting some of the industry’s leading Lighting Directors.
LD David Bishop rounded out an impressive roster of household TV shows when Strictly Come Dancing returned to the George Lucas Stage for an impressive 22nd series. Ably supported by Gaffer Mark Newell, David also returned to light the auditions of Britain’s Got Talent as it moved venues to the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. David and Version 2 have also turned their hands to the realms of eSports, supporting production company Whisper with the FC Pro Competitions for EA Sports.
LD Oli Richards has been on location, teaming up with long-term Gaffer Paul Evans, working on Channel 4’s The Piano at train stations across the country. The current series concluded with a concert at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music. Oli has been a resident at the BBC Television Centre, lighting The Great British Bake Off’s companion show, An Extra Slice. Version 2 returned to Manchester and Dock 10 Studios, supporting Oli with the returning ITV format The Big Quiz.
Version 2 supported LD Roger Williams with a brand-new prime-time ITV series Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening. Filmed at BBC Studioworks Elstree Studio D, this 3×60 series is produced by the Emmy and triple-BAFTA award-winning team at Ranga Bee Productions, as three celebrities each week compete to win money for their chosen charity.
LD James Tinsley and Telle-D continue to be extremely busy in the world of reality television, with Version 2 supporting James across Europe and beyond. A summary of the most recent shows includes The Anonymous for NBC, Love Island – Australia, I Kissed A Boy, and a return to the studio with The Martin Lewis Money Show, supported by Malcolm Roberts.
LD Matt Carter called upon Version 2 to support him and the daytime lighting team at ITV on various specials for ITV This Morning, both in the studio and on location in the New Forest. Matt delivered a theatrical special for MJ The Musical, which featured on This Morning.
LD Daryl Thornton and Gaffer Dave Scrivens continue to turn to Version 2 for their equipment rentals. Notable shows for Daryl include the UEFA Champions League coverage for CBS Sports. Version 2 find themselves on site at IMG Studios at Stockley Park on a near-weekly basis.
Version 2 equipment remains a prominent fixture at Sky Studios in Osterley Park. Version 2 partners with LDs Malcolm Reed and Richard Bowles and Team Leader Lee Jackson on a multitude of broadcast projects.
