Everyone connected to Version 2 is heartbroken to hear about the loss of Toby Gale.

Toby joined us in September 2021 and quickly advanced through our trainee lighting program to become a Senior Technician. Toby was highly respected by both his colleagues and industry freelancers, and his promising career was just beginning to shine as he worked on several high-profile productions.

Outside of his professional life, Toby was a passionate rugby enthusiast, particularly devoted to Bath Rugby. Recently married to Amelia, he was also a beloved son to Darren and Emma, who were former colleagues at Version 2.

Despite bravely battling cancer in recent years, Toby maintained a positive outlook and engaged in various fundraising efforts.

Nick Edwards, MD expressed his sadness, stating that Toby was one of the most dedicated and talented individuals he had the pleasure of working with, and his future was unquestionably bright in our industry.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Toby’s family Amelia, Darren, Emma and Sister Katie and all his friends during this incredibly challenging time.
